Aiming at customers looking for a sporty design, the primary asset of this engine is its matte “ghost” black color popular in the racing world, but still rare in the marine engine sector. Named “Kuro,” meaning deep black in Japanese, the DF250 kanji also expresses elegance and refinement in Japanese literature.
A racing-look engine, the new Suzuki DF250 is a 24-valve V6 with electronic fuel injection and 4023 cm3 displacement, based on the technologies that have built Suzuki's reputation. It offers enhanced performance thanks to development made on the electronic control unit. Its performance range widens from 5700 to 6300 rpm.
Furthermore, the front shape of the lower unit casing has been designed inspired by lower units used in powerboat racing to improve water penetration. The placement and lines of the water intakes have been studied to enhance navigation performance by preventing cavitation. The lateral asymmetry of the skeg provides better steering stability.
