Suzuki's new outboard engine, the DF140B, features developments that further enhance its overall performance. The compression ratio is indeed increased to 10.6/1, allowing this outboard engine of over 2 liters to further improve maximum speed and achieve better acceleration while optimizing thermal efficiency.
Energy efficiency has also been improved compared to the well-known DF140A model among the brand's customers. Tests have shown a 5 to 6% improvement in fuel consumption over the DF140A across a medium to high speed range.
The new cowling adopts a special air intake optimizing water separation while reducing intake air temperature, allowing higher power delivery at mid-range RPM. A resonator system further reduces engine noise at all speeds.
The new direct ignition reduces the number of parts and wiring, which allows better spark generation and improves combustion efficiency.
The main difference with its "little brother" DF115B is that it obtains its power over a higher RPM range.
