The new Suzuki outboard engine, the DF115B, features improvements that further enhance its overall performance. The compression ratio has increased to 10.6/1, allowing this outboard engine of over 2 liters to further improve maximum speed and achieve better acceleration while optimizing thermal efficiency.
Fuel efficiency has also been improved compared to the well-known DF115A model favored by the brand's customers. Tests have shown a 5 to 6% improvement in fuel consumption for the DF115B over a range of medium to high speeds.
The new cowl features a special air intake optimizing water separation while reducing intake air temperature, allowing for higher power delivery at mid-range RPMs. A resonator system further reduces engine noise at all speeds.
The new direct ignition reduces the number of parts and wiring, resulting in better spark generation and improved combustion efficiency.
The main difference with its "big brother" DF140B is that it achieves its power output over a lower and broader RPM range.
