Suzuki's new outboard motor, the DF140B, benefits from improvements that further enhance its overall performance. The compression ratio is now 10.6:1, allowing this outboard engine of over 2 liters to further improve maximum speed and achieve better acceleration while optimizing thermal efficiency.
Energy efficiency has also been improved compared to the well-known DF140A model favored by the brand's customers. Tests have shown a 5 to 6% improvement in fuel consumption over the DF140A across a range of medium to high speeds.
The new cowling features a special air intake that optimizes water separation while reducing the intake air temperature, allowing higher power output at mid-range speeds. A resonator system further reduces engine noise at all speeds.
The new direct ignition reduces the number of parts and wiring, which better generates the ignition spark and improves combustion efficiency.
The main difference with its "little brother" DF115B is that it delivers its power over a higher rpm range.
