The new outboard engine from Suzuki, the DF140B, benefits from improvements that further enhance its overall performance. The compression ratio is now 10.6/1, allowing this outboard engine of more than 2 liters to further improve top speed and achieve better acceleration while optimizing thermal efficiency.
Energy efficiency has also been improved compared to the well-known DF140A model among the brand's customers. Tests have shown a 5 to 6% improvement in fuel consumption over the DF140A across a range of medium to high speeds.
The new cowling features a special air intake optimizing water separation while reducing intake air temperature, enabling higher power delivery at mid-range RPMs. A resonator system further reduces engine noise at all speeds.
The new direct ignition reduces the number of parts and wiring, which better generates the ignition spark and improves combustion efficiency.
The main difference with its "little brother" DF115B is that it achieves its power over a higher RPM range.
