Suzuki's new outboard engine, the DF115B, features improvements that further enhance its overall performance. The compression ratio is now 10.6/1, allowing this outboard engine of over 2 liters to further improve top speed and achieve better acceleration while optimizing thermal efficiency.
Fuel efficiency has also been improved compared to the well-known DF115A model from the brand. Tests have shown a 5 to 6% improvement in fuel consumption for the DF115B over a medium to high speed range.
The new cowling adopts a special air intake that optimizes water separation while reducing intake air temperature, allowing higher power output at mid-range RPMs. A resonator system further reduces engine noise at all speeds.
The new direct ignition reduces the number of parts and wiring, which better generates the ignition spark and improves combustion efficiency.
The main difference with its "big brother" DF140B is that it achieves its power over a lower and broader RPM range.
